Daddy's Boo Boo

Doug hurt his finger pretty badly a few weeks ago. We were getting ready to go on a family bike ride and he was pumping up a tire. Mid-pump, the two metal shafts came apart and Doug slammed his finger down onto an open metal tube with all his weight. (And we all know Doug is not a little guy!) He sliced his finger open from side to side, requiring a trip to the ER. He got 8 temporary stitches and was told he had to see a hand surgeon because he sliced the tendon that allows him to raise the tip of his finger. The surgeon said it should grow back together naturally, so thankfully no surgery was required. He does have to wear a finger brace for 6-8 weeks. Apparently Doug was just trying to follow a family tradition since his Uncles Kenny & Barry both have cut off fingers! I told him he'll have to try harder next time!

Happy Easter!

For Easter we went up to Grandma Nancy & Chuck's house to celebrate and have an Easter Egg hunt. Every year Grandma Nancy creates a "patch" in her wooded yard for each of the kids. This year Carter had his own patch right in Grandma's front yard. Kyle and Katie helped him find all his eggs and he returned the favor! Thanks Grandma Nancy & Chuck for giving us a great day!

All the kids love Grandma's tire swing and this year Carter got in on the action!

Ashley was holding onto Susie for us. Susie is the newest member of our family. She is a 1 1/2 year old German Shorthaired Pointer. She is a total sweetie, but needs some behavioral training. She'll get there eventually. She and Carter
have become best buds!

Grandma snuggled Ellie in her pink blankie that she crocheted for her. It is so soft and cozy, I told her I wanted her to make one for our bed. I think her response was something like, "If you want it in ten years!" Apparently it takes a long time to make stuff like that, so a huge thank you to Grandma Annette for taking the time to make Ellie Belle her beautiful blankie!

What a great picture!

While we were up in Breckenridge we had lunch with Aunt Jenny & Grandpa Pat. It was the first time Pat has seen Ellie. It was a fun lunch!

Happy Birthday Ava!

We went up to Breckenridge to visit Tasha, Jeremy, & Ava to celebrate Ava's 2nd birthday. Carter had a blast playing with Ava. We took the kids swimming in the hotel pool and also ran into one of my high school classmates, Nicole Loehr, who manages the hotel. It was great to see her again! It was so fun to spend three days with Tasha. It was like high school again- talking constantly! Doug stayed home to work on refinishing the wood floors in our living room, which turned out great! Great job Honey!
